Sean & Kortney's Destination Wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun — Love to Travel

Sean & Kortney

Hyatt Ziva Cancun  ·  Cancún, Mexico

— ✦ —

Number of Guests: 86

Ceremony Location: Cliffside Gazebo

Reception Location: Sky Terrace

Wedding Colors: Neutrals

Photographer: Sarah Valencia (brought from home)

Honeymoon: Stayed on at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

— ✦ —

The size — Hyatt Ziva Cancun was the perfect scale to actually spend meaningful time with all 86 guests throughout the week. Kortney says she loved everything about the resort and honestly isn't sure she could stay at another all-inclusive after experiencing the Hyatt Ziva. That says it all.

— ✦ —

"I knew we would need a lot of help making travel arrangements for all of our guests and my mom had recommended Love to Travel — they had planned another vacation for a group of hers in the past. I'm so thankful we used Love to Travel. It made wedding planning so simple and easy. They helped us pick the perfect resort, made the travel arrangements a breeze, and they even performed our legal ceremony before the wedding in Mexico. It was absolutely perfect."

— ✦ —

Skip the resort's official pre-wedding trip and arrive a few days before your guests instead. Sean and Kortney did exactly that — met with their wedding coordinator, had all the details sorted in a couple of hours, enjoyed the spa, a couples massage, and a private dinner overlooking the ocean. The coordinators at Hyatt Ziva know exactly what they are doing and the pre-trip simply isn't necessary.

💡 Arrival tip from Sean & Kortney Arriving a few days early gives you quiet time together before the celebration begins — and it's the perfect opportunity to invite family to arrive early too, before the friend group descends. Having that more personal time with close relatives before the party starts made a big difference for them, and it's something they'd recommend to every couple planning a destination wedding.

And the guests? They've already told Sean and Kortney they want to be invited back for the one-year anniversary trip. That's the sign of a wedding week done right.

Evan & Ruchi's Destination Wedding at Sandals South Coast — Love to Travel

Evan & Ruchi

Sandals South Coast  ·  Jamaica

— ✦ —

Wedding Package: Custom package designed with wedding planner Anthony

Number of Guests: 30

Ceremony Location: Over the Water Chapel

Reception Location: Garden (moved to banquet hall due to weather)

Wedding Colors: White and gold with pops of maroon and mauve

Photography: Mallard Photography

Videography: Jessika Christine Photography

— ✦ —

Their first look — just the two of them in the private Red Lane Spa garden, with their photographer and videographer capturing every quiet, intimate moment before the celebration began. It was both of their favorite memory of the entire day.

They stayed in the overwater bungalows at Sandals South Coast for their honeymoon — waking up above the Caribbean Sea with nothing but water and sky in every direction.

Everything. The people, the food, the bungalows — and especially the wedding planning team. Wedding planners Anthony and LaToya were the absolute best. Ruchi says she doesn't know what she would have done without them.

The West Coast Adventure — ATVs, zip-lining, and a safari tour. The ATVs were the most amazing experience of the entire trip and the zip-lining was a ton of fun for the whole group. The safari tour was interesting too, though they could have done without it. The ATVs alone are worth the excursion.

— ✦ —

"Love to Travel came up in a Google search and I am so thankful they did. They made the entire process so much easier — getting me in contact with the wedding planner at the resort, keeping up with me throughout the entire process to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything or needed anything. And all my guests loved them!"

— ✦ —

It's a destination wedding — don't go overboard with the décor. When the moment arrives, you won't be paying attention to the expensive floral arrangements you spent months picking out. Every single one of your guests will just be happy to be at a beautiful resort celebrating with you, and the scenery itself is more than enough.

💡 A note on florals from Evan & Ruchi Florals at destination wedding resorts are incredibly expensive — and you can't bring them home with you. Before investing heavily in elaborate arrangements, consider whether the natural beauty of your ceremony location — an overwater chapel, a beachfront terrace, a garden at sunset — might be all the backdrop you actually need.

Jacob & Morgan's Destination Wedding at Sandals Royal Bahamian — Love to Travel

Jacob & Morgan

Sandals Royal Bahamian  ·  Nassau, Bahamas

Wedding Package: Free Wedding (included with stay)

Number of Guests: 28

Ceremony Location: Private Offshore Island

Their first dance — and the choreographed hip hop dance that nobody saw coming. The kind of moment that makes a wedding unforgettable.

Sandals Royal Bahamian brings a lively, celebratory energy that made it the perfect place to celebrate with friends. It's a party resort in the best possible sense — and when your whole group is there to celebrate together, that atmosphere is exactly what you want.

Catamaran snorkeling and a beach break — a classic Nassau excursion that's perfect for a mixed group and a great way to spend a free day with your wedding guests.

— ✦ —

"I chose Love to Travel so I could relax knowing everything was getting done the way it was supposed to — and so my guests had a smooth and easy way to book. That peace of mind made all the difference during the planning process."

— ✦ —

With a destination wedding, there will be people you never expected to show up — and people you were sure would come who can't make it. Just know that whoever ends up there will be exactly the right group. Trust it.

💡 Insider tip for Sandals Royal Bahamian couples If you choose Sandals Royal Bahamian, do the ceremony and reception on the private offshore island. You have the entire island to yourselves — no strangers wandering through the background of your ceremony or photos. The exclusivity and privacy it creates is worth every bit of the planning involved.

They'd love to try a different Sandals property — already thinking about the next adventure in the portfolio.

Caylee & Will's Destination Wedding at TRS Coral Hotel — Love to Travel

Caylee & Will Burch

TRS Coral Hotel  ·  Costa Mujeres, Mexico

— ✦ —

Wedding Package: Tropical Bliss

Number of Guests: 65

Ceremony Location: Gravity Terrace Rooftop

Reception Location: Conference Room (moved indoors due to weather)

Photographer: Mady Anderle, Charlotte NC

— ✦ —

Being able to enjoy an entire week with their closest family and friends at a beautiful resort in Cancún — not just one night, but a full week of memories made together.

The TRS Coral Hotel pool was the heart of their week — so much fun. They also loved the resort's activity programming, especially the poolside pilates classes. A resort that keeps guests genuinely entertained throughout the week makes all the difference for a wedding group.

The Yacht Experience — a full boat day with friends that everyone on the trip raved about. Highly recommended for wedding groups who want a shared adventure off the resort.

— ✦ —

"We were referred to Love to Travel by two of our close friends, Regan and Cole. We saw how perfectly executed their destination wedding was and we wanted the same for ours. We experienced Love to Travel first as guests to a destination wedding and everything was SO easy to plan as far as travel. We knew we had to partner with Love to Travel so that our wedding guests would have the same experience."

— ✦ —

Book a room block for the entire week and encourage your guests to join you for a full vacation — not just the wedding night. You get so much more time with the people you love, and the shared memories throughout the week make the whole celebration richer. Plan fun group excursions, but also carve out a day at the spa or quiet time with your partner. Both matter.

⚠️ Important tip from Caylee & Will Do NOT mail wedding décor or personal items from the United States to Mexico. They mailed vow books, customized napkins, matchboxes, and cocktail stirrers to the resort in advance — and the package never arrived. Pack everything you need for your wedding week in a separate piece of luggage and carry it through customs at the airport. Don't let this happen to you.

A return to the Waldorf Astoria Riviera Maya — where they spent three nights after the wedding for a mini moon that was absolutely breathtaking. They can't wait to go back.

Bret & Cali's Destination Wedding at Hyatt Ziva Cancun — Love to Travel

Bret & Cali

Hyatt Ziva Cancun  ·  Cancún, Mexico

— ✦ —

Wedding Package: Zama

Number of Guests: 100

Ceremony Location: Cliff Gazebo

Reception Location: Punta Vista Rooftop

Photographer: Resort Photographer

— ✦ —

The reception — it was almost surprising how many guests shut it down completely. A ton of fun celebrating with friends and family all night long.

The location and layout of Hyatt Ziva Cancun — multiple beaches, multiple pools, and plenty of bars, yet surprisingly easy to navigate for a large wedding group. Guests could always find each other and hang out together throughout the week, which made the whole celebration feel connected from arrival to departure.

Golf — Cancún has excellent courses nearby and it's a great way for guests to spend a free day off the resort.

— ✦ —

"We partnered with Love to Travel to make sure all our guests would be taken care of and could have all their questions answered. They made it so easy for all 100 guests — transportation was seamless, schedule changes were handled without stress, and they were a huge help in getting us connected with the wedding coordinator and giving us advice on where to go. Couldn't have managed a group that size without them."

— ✦ —

Find a resort that you are confident you and your guests will love — and Hyatt Ziva Cancun delivered on that completely. Their guests said it was one of their favorite resorts they'd ever been to. Remember that your guests are spending real money to come celebrate with you, so choose a resort that feels like a vacation for them too.

And don't panic if it feels like not much has been planned in the early stages. The wedding coordinators at the resort know exactly what they're doing and will keep you on schedule. They typically don't need everything finalized far in advance — trust the process.

Wouldn't have changed a thing.

St. Lucia — already dreaming of the next adventure.

Manny & Lauren's Destination Wedding at Dreams Secrets Bahia Mita — Love to Travel

Manny & Lauren

Dreams/Secrets Bahia Mita  ·  Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

— ✦ —

Wedding Package: Beyond Memorable

Number of Guests: 120

Ceremony Location: Presidential Terrace

Reception Location: Beach Garden

Photographer: Sasha and Roma Samsonova

— ✦ —

Dancing under the disco ball ALL NIGHT — with every single one of their 120 guests right there with them.

The luxurious, brand-new feel of Dreams/Secrets Bahia Mita — and the way it brings everyone together effortlessly. Even with both an adults side and a family side, the resort made it easy for all guests to enjoy every part of the property. Events are constantly happening and there's always something to do. And during whale season, they spotted 10+ whales a day right from the resort.

Chica Loca Tours for a sunset whale watching excursion — Manny and Lauren offered it as a welcome gift to their guests and called it incredible. If you're visiting during whale season, don't miss this.

— ✦ —

"We wanted to partner with a local business and heard great things from other friends and family who used them before. They made our planning experience AMAZING. It was so nice that our guests had someone to reach out to and lean on when I didn't know the answers. Alexis was a dream to work with. Over half of our guests had flights canceled and she called each of them personally to help them rebook. Cannot recommend them enough!"

— ✦ —

Take time with each person who came to celebrate with you — that's what the week is really about. Don't sweat the small things. The memories, the people, the music, and the views are what make the night so special. Enjoy yourself! Take time with your significant other. Make a list of everything you want to do and experience during your trip — and make it happen.

Stick with the resort's own vendors for the DJ and flowers. Outside vendors can be less expensive but the stress of someone showing up late simply isn't worth it on your wedding day.

Back to Dreams/Secrets Bahia Mita — they loved it that much.

Their first dance and their vows — the two moments that made the entire day feel real.

The walkability and intimate scale of Dreams Riviera Cancun — they could see most of their guests every single day, and the resort had enough activities to keep every age group entertained throughout the week.

A day trip to Isla Mujeres — one of the most beautiful islands off the coast of Cancún and a perfect way to spend a free day with your guests.

— ✦ —

"We chose Love to Travel based on a recommendation from my sister who had used them previously. Working with them made planning our wedding 100 times easier. They not only gave clear instructions to us but also made sure our guests were fully prepared. A lot of them said this was the most organized wedding they've been invited to — and they felt like all their questions were answered."

— ✦ —

Give yourself time to plan the little details so it doesn't feel stressful. Be intentional about the traditions you include in your big day. Have so much fun and soak in every single moment — because the day goes by in a flash. Have someone take lots of photos and videos so you have them the night of and can keep reliving the day while you wait for the professional photos. And above all — remember it's YOUR day and no one else's!

Somewhere on a tropical island — the adventure continues.
